Fully open Blitz tournament
Friday January 2nd
We invite chess players of all kinds, organized or non-organized, of all ages and from all levels, to a fully open blitz tournament Friday afternoon/evening, with 5 minutes per player and game.
Registration on the day until 18:00. Play starts at 18:30. Prizegiving ceremony at around 20:45.
Starting fee is 10 Euro for players born 1996 or later, 16 Euro for players born 1989 or later, 22 Euro for everyone else.
The tournament system will be decided depending on the number of participants, but see prize categories below!
Group A for players with rating 1600 or higher.
Money prizes of 180 Euro to the winner and 120 Euro to the best player with FIDE-rating below 2000. In addition 1/3 within each of these two rating groups will get prizes.
Group B for players with rating below 1600 or no rating.
Money prizes of 120 Euro to the winner and 100 Euro to the best player with a rating below 1200. In addition 1/3 within each of the rating groups 1200-1599, 800-1199 and below 800 will get prizes.
Note: Unrated players may be placed in rated classes.
Open Handicap Blitz tournament
Sunday January 4th
Registration on the day until 18:00. Play starts at 18:30. Prizegiving ceremony at around 20:45.
Starting fee is 6 Euro for players born 1996 or later, 10 Euro for players born 1989 or later, 12 Euro for everyone else.
Time handicaps according to rating:
Rating difference of the game = 0 - 149: 5 minutes against 5
Rating difference 150 - 299: 6 minutes against 4
Rating difference 300 - 499: 7 minutes against 3
Rating difference 500 - 699: 8 minutes against 2
Rating difference 700 or more: 9 minutes against 1
Most recent official ratings are applied, national ratings for the Norwegians, most recent FIDE rating or other national rating for non-Norwegian players. Unrated players will get a rating by consideration, and this may be changed at the latest after 3 rounds.
