Chess lectures and training
The festival program will include several lectures and chess lessons. Most of this will be in Norwegian language, and not mentioned here at the English translation. But:
Tiviakov on c3 Sicilian
Reigning European Champion Sergey Tiviakov from Netherlands (former Russia) holds an open lecture at the Thon Hotel Gjøvik on Tuesday December 30th from 9 to 10 in the evening, about one of his great specialties about which he previously made a DVD:
”Sicilian with 2 c3 and how I also became European champion with this opening.”
This lecture will be in English, and best suited for players with a playing strength from rating about 1300 and higher.
Admission NOK 80, and for children and youth not yet 17: NOK 40. Tickets are sold at the festival office.
